The Center for Cities + Schools Fund

The Center for Cities + Schools works to identify and advance policies and practices that create opportunity-rich places where young people can be successful in and out of school. This interdisciplinary, action-research institute links the fields of city planning and K-12 education. We conduct high-quality, non-partisan policy research, engage youth in urban planning, and cultivate collaboration between city and school leaders to strengthen all communities and create environments where young people of all backgrounds can thrive. We believe that the places young people inhabit – and the urban planning processes that shape those places – are powerful and underutilized tools to help close the opportunity gap and improve education.
