Your gift makes a difference
Make an impactful difference for a student experiencing hardship.
During the previous academic year, donations to the Student Emergency Fund enabled Berkeley to provide $342,426 in emergency funding to 64 students. This included more than $50,000 in emergency grants distributed to 21 students affected by the devastating wildfires in Southern California, as well as more than $150,000 to 11 international students facing urgent immigration-related needs due to the unexpected termination of their student visas.
Thirty-two other students received emergency aid to cover medical bills, housing, food, and other essentials. The Student Emergency Fund has been a vital safety net for Berkeley’s most vulnerable students, stepping in whenever unexpected hardship threatens their academic journey.
Student quote:
“The support I have received is exactly what I need to focus on my academics without added stress. It has helped me meet my basic needs, including food, rent, and utilities, and I am deeply grateful."
