Your gift makes a difference
In 2018, Berkeley announced a commitment to achieve Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) status by 2027. This federal designation comprises colleges and universities that enroll at least 25 percent Latinx undergraduates. Becoming an HSI is about much more than a numeric description. For us, it’s about cultivating thriving opportunities to learn, work, and create. Your support helps ensure that every member of our Latinx community is offered the opportunity to thrive. In particular, this means that students have equitable access to the full range of opportunities that support their educational journey, including:
College prep and academic counseling programs
Financial aid, scholarships, and fellowships managed by the Office of Financial Aid
Food, housing, and other basic needs through the Basic Needs Center
Participatory learning experiences for undergraduates and mentoring experiences for graduate students by the Latinx Resource Center and faculty partners
Holistic mental health and wellness support
We invite you to join us in fulfilling our responsibility to serve the public good by supporting the Latinx leaders of today and tomorrow.
The LTI Fund is coordinated in partnership with the Chicanx/Latinx Student Development Office and Division of Equity & Inclusion.
