The Art of Writing supports the craft of writing at UC Berkeley and cultivates a collaborative writing community across the disciplines. We offer intimate writing seminars in the arts and humanities, social sciences, STEM, and engineering, giving students intensive guidance in developing their own writing voices. Dedicated to writing pedagogy for graduate students and faculty, we hold workshops on the practice of teaching writing. We teach advanced undergraduates to serve as tutors and writing fellows, so they possess the skills to support their peers in perfecting their written work. We also offer experiences outside the traditional classroom, such as writing internships in diverse fields and intensive writing workshops taught by professional writers.
