The AAPI Media Creatives Fellowship

The AAPI (Asian American and Pacific Islander) community has helped build America. But mainstream storytelling does not reflect these contributions or include narratives of the diaspora. At the Berkeley Center for New Media, we want to change this.

The AAPI Media Creatives Fellowship encourages greater diversity in studios and agencies in the entertainment industry, changing how these careers are viewed by AAPI students and how AAPI people are viewed within the industry. Fellows will receive a summer stipend plus mentorship from industry professionals, helping them pursue their creative passions in media and entertainment. The support may lead to an internship at a Hollywood studio, developing a script or video game, or auditioning for television and movie roles. Students will be selected based on their commitment to developing narratives that feature Asian American and Pacific Islanders and encouraging greater diversity at all levels within media.
