Your gift makes a difference
One of the fastest growing humanities programs at Berkeley, New Yugoslav Studies is becoming a premier center of South Slavic research in North America.
Your gifts will enable students to take an even wider array of language and culture classes. Berkeley is unique in that it offers a comprehensive three-year sequence of Bosnian / Croatian / Serbian (BCS) language, along with courses in Yugoslav and post-Yugoslav literature, film, folklore, and history.
Your support will help us develop new research opportunities for students, grow the curricula devoted to the study of Yugoslav culture and society from a transnational perspective, and continue to provide innovative programming to the Bay Area’s Balkan and South Slavic community from all successor states: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, and Slovenia.
