The John Gardner Fellowship – Next Generation Fund

Supporting Public Leadership for Over 30 Years!

The goal of the John Gardner Fellowship is to encourage the best students at Berkeley and Stanford to pursue a career in public service. The Next Generation endowment fund supports three Berkeley graduating seniors by providing them with a modest stipend to work under a leader in a governmental or nonprofit organization as a post-graduate fellow. The fellowship is named in honor of John W. Gardner (1912-2002) who served in the administration of six US presidents, as the president of the Carnegie Corporation, and founded Common Cause and Independent Sector.
