Robert T. Matsui Center for Politics & Public Service
The Robert T. Matsui Center for Politics & Public Service is a component of Berkeley’s Institute of Governmental Studies (IGS). The Matsui Center engages Cal students in public life through internships, public events, and the presence of distinguished visitors to campus where they meet with students and lecture to classes. The Center offers students with competitive internship placements in Washington DC, Sacramento, local governments, and non-profit organizations and sponsors public events that bring to the campus distinguished speakers addressing the most important issues facing our nation and state. The Center is strictly non-partisan and is named in memory of US Congressman Robert T. Matsui (1941-2005) who graduated from Cal in 1963.
